Hey! You know me (Laurie), and you know Nat - we're going to be raising $5k for cancer research by doing the Shitbox Rally in Winter of 2026.

Why are we called the Peppercats? I don't know! Might have something to do with our mate Jules' cat, which always sneezed.

What's the Shitbox Rally? I'm glad you asked!

We are starting in Mildura, and over seven days, driving across good roads, shit roads, dirt tracks and desert, to get to the top end of Australia - straight through the middle! We stop off at Hawker, Mungerannie, Bedourie, McKinlay, Karumba, Chillagoe, and ending up at a small town outside Townsville.

And we're doing it all in a yet-to-be purchased shitbox - a car worth less than $1.5k.

Why am I telling you about it? Because we're not just doing it for fun (though it will be). We are doing it to raise money to fight cancer.

We are trying to raise $5k to go to the Cancer Council to fund vital cancer research.

Any bit you could donate would really help us - big or small. It's all tax deductable, and the more you donate, the more you can request logos, or pictures, or alterations to our car!

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
